‘I know why I have a long neck’ – home birth

Maureen Waite gave birth to her second and third children at home in London’s East End in the 1960s, after a difficult experience during the birth of her first child in a hospital. With no telephone and a midwife who arrived on her bike, Maureen almost had her third child without any help.
